If a ball joint needs attention, refurbishment may be an option for some applications. Polyparts refurbishes selected ball joints using engineered plastic, which we consider a better-quality option than cheap aftermarket ball joints. Whether a particular joint is suitable depends on the vehicle and component.
We do not refurbish ball joints from any Isuzu KB-series vehicle or Ford Everest. We also cannot guarantee or provide a warranty on refurbished ball joints: they are high-stress components, and their internal condition cannot be inspected by us.
A ball joint is a precision, high-stress assembly, not simply an empty cavity to fill. Drilling a large hole changes its housing, and pouring in polyurethane does not by itself recreate a correctly shaped bearing surface, controlled fit and movement, secure retention, or the original sealing and lubrication. This is not the same as a refurbishment using engineered plastic, and it cannot establish that the joint is safe or suitable. A repair that does not properly address the joint can waste money and leave a safety-critical part unreliable.
Do not assume a worn or damaged ball joint is safe to use. If you suspect a fault, have the vehicle assessed by a qualified mechanic. Contact Polyparts with the vehicle make, model and year and clear photos before sending a component so we can confirm whether it is an application we accept.
