Finding a replacement mounting can be difficult when a vehicle is older, a part has been discontinued or a replacement is outside your budget. Refurbishing the original component in polyurethane may be an option. If the part cannot be refurbished, Polyparts can also discuss helping with the design and manufacture of a new component.

Gather the details. When you contact a specialist, share what you know: the vehicle or machine make and model, the component's location and what the part does. If you have a part number or a name from a parts catalogue, include that too.

Take clear photos. Photograph the whole component from several angles. Include close-ups of worn, torn or damaged areas, and place a ruler beside it if you can. Keep any metal inserts or sleeves that came with the part, even if the rubber has failed.

Share any design information. If you have a drawing, sample, measurements or requirements for a new component, mention that when you enquire. The application and the job the part needs to do help guide the discussion.

Ask before sending a part. Share the details and photos first. That gives the workshop a chance to understand the enquiry and tell you what information or next steps may be needed. Every component is different, so refurbishment and manufacturing options depend on the part and its application.

Polyparts refurbishes rubber mountings and components, and can help with polyurethane design and manufacture. If a part is hard to replace or needs to be made, use the enquiry form to tell us what you are working with.
